DK salutes local hero Sgt. Ryan Connolly for making the ultimate sacrifice to ensure our FREEDOM.  He was killed in Afghanistan while serving our country.

David Lee, Peggy Sue Williams, Rich Williams. David makes $500.00 donation to Peggy and Rich Williams in care of Fallen Soldier Trust Fund at the Montgomery Village Classic Car Show.

While in Reno for Hot August Nights, David and Kathy Lee saw the Fallen Soldier Trust Fund Nova for Sgt. Ryan Connolly and after learning the story just had to help out.  Just like Ryan, David is a passionate muscle car enthusiast and has not had the opportunity to build his dream muscle car.

The project Nova is for raising money for Ryan’s daughter Kayla’s education trust fund.

DK launched a campaign to support, publicize and donate to it.  Campaign ends on December 31, 2011.

DK is a corporate sponsor and donated $500.00 on September 19th 2010 at the Montgomery Village Classic Car Show.  We will also donate $50.00 for each new maintenance account we get (Accompanied by coupon.  Coupon is downloadable.).  Please spread the word to your family, friends and neighbors.

David and Kathy Lee went to the complex and asked the manager if their landscaper had taken care of it.  The manager said no.  Since this is a low income apartment for seniors, we offered to cut back all the plants as community service.  The manager accepted.

We also took this opportunity to offer temporary employment to two members of the Rohnert Park First Baptist Church, a Hispanic church.

We were one of the major corporate donors for Matt LaCoco’s Eagle Scout Project for the Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue.  We provided the expertise and a crew of 4 and installed a drip irrigation system.

The free one-time service took place on César Chavez Day as a tribute to César Chavez, a champion for Hispanic workers.

When Carolina was recommended to us we knew immediately that she was the perfect candidate. She is a single mother of three (ages 6, 12 and 14) who came to the United States from El Salvador in 2003. Linares’ ex-husband provides minimal support for their children, and has left her with housing and credit card debts to pay.

She was attending the Santa Rosa Junior College on a scholarship, but was forced to put her education on hold in order to take on a second job. She is now working as a loan processor full time and a restaurant server on the weekends.

Linares recently spent

$450 on a new water pump. But the work was poorly done, and her car needed an additional $1,000.00 in repairs. Linares is an exceptionally hard worker, striving to provide for herself and her children, and DK is excited to support her commendable drive to succeed by lending her a helping hand during these rough times.

This is DK Landscaping’s way of saying thanks to the Hispanic community because they do so much of the hard work in the landscaping industry.
